I've successfully installed DG4 but when I load any scenario there is no mesh for the ship - I can't see the ship or the
control panels. I haven't seen anyone post anything about this bug - anyone know what might be wrong?

Do you have UMMU, and do you have the latest version of Orbiter? (Latest version is 060929)

And do you have OrbiterSound? Downloading OrbiterSound is required for the DGIV.

OK, I've figured out part of the problem - I didn't have the right version of "Orbiter" loaded.

Now, I've encountered another problem - after I've run a mission for a short period of time, the DG4 (the mesh)
disappears. I was running the Auto Docking Tutorial, and as I approached the ISS I switched to external view and
both the DG and the ISS disappeared from the external and internal view, although they were actually still there, I
just couldn't see them.

I've run three scenario's so far and enountered the same bug on all of them. In the UMmu Tranfer to Docked Ship
scenario, both DG's disappeared.

Any idea what might be happening here?

Thanks,
Kestrel

maybe it's still not the right version ? do you have the 060929 ?
Did you installed it fresh (not in the old directory with old version)

Do you have problem only on DGIV ? (else it might be your graphic card drivers?)

What I can say is that hundred of peoples ran DGIV thousand hours
without this problem, sorry might be on your own.

That is the new experimental cloaking device that protects the DGIV and ISS from hostile Aliens!!!

What are your machine specs?

Have the correct version.
Tried a clean install on Orbiter 2006 + P1, Orbiter Sound 3.5 and DGIV in a new directory.
Problem so far only shows up in DGIV, but I don't have DGIII loaded under Orbiter 2006 (does it even work in Orbiter
2006??).

So far, it has happened in all scenarios I have tried, but if I do a Quicksave and launch the saved file, the problem
goes away for a short while and then happens again.

??? sorry puzzled, did you tried with other addons (not DGIII) ?
Does the splash screen show "build sep 29 2006" in the lower right corner ?

What hardware do you have, did you tried to update your graphic drivers ?

I once had a (quite) similar problem, I think I solved it by putting a copy of msvcr71.dll in the orbiter main directory and
into  the WINDOWS/System folder.

Worth a try - what does that file do and where can I find it?
