I am not entirely clear about what you are saying but... why not just send up another DG4 to the rescue?

woo482, can you make an effort please, you are barrely
understandable it's very boring not to say unpolite.

Respect other and respect yourself, I'm sure
you can write better with a little effort.

Soyuz will never fit in the DGIV's cargo hold ;)
Well, unless someone made a version of it that can fit in the cargo bay.

Some thought on this thread brings up an interesting idea. What about a DGIV cargo module with life support capabilities for
deep space where a crew might expect to wait days possibly for rescue? Since my modding skills amount to not much more than
textures I have no idea how you would go about that but by guess it would require either some method of docking a Ummu to the
outside or a way to transfer oxygen and fuel to the Ummu suit.

Alternatively a possible DGIV payload similar to the MTKS-Sat that unfolds into a survival tent with simulated airlock. This
would only require the developer to make it Ummu capable and simple animations to simulate inflation. Sort of a space life
raft. Mesh would probably not need to be anything more than a cargo module which changes into a large sphere. Don't know if
it would be easier to make the sphere transparent of opaque.

Again it sounds simple to myself without a lot of modding experience. Any ideas from anyone who has more experience in DGIV
and Orbiter mods?

The DGIV already has that, B38:

Intteresting idea, would do it immediattely if enough time... This is really possible
with all features you mentionned. Require a specific DLL howewer.

I haven't experimented with that payload. Does it have actual life support capabilities or is it just a normal payload?

Just musing over the thread. You've done enough Dan. We all know what happens when you spend too much time around electronics.

That's about what I was thinking. It would require a .dll and be for the most part a simple space ship with no or limited
RCS. A possible scenario would be an accident requiring a crew to eject from a DGIV on, or in orbit of a small remote moon in
the Jupiter/Saturn/Neptune systems with help a week or two away from a base on one of the large moons.

You unload the MK5 life raft from the cargo hold and then eject the crew, activate the raft like you do the sattelite. When
it inflates to a sphere or watever shape it makes it becomes a simple Obiter ship with Ummu. Just enter it like you would the
sample ShuttlePB and await rescue.

It seems the hardest parts would be the animation of the life raft and coding the .dll. Might even be possible to adapt the
ShuttlePB sample Ummu code to do the job. Of course there's where my experience in modding ends. In the 3D field I've started
to master Easy Object Designer for FS2004 and my coding experience is limited to TRS80 Color Computer Basic from 20 years ago. :)

Oh how I wish I had time to learn all the things I would like to learn to do. Of course then I wouldn't have time to do the
things I really have to do. Like fix my tractor that blew it's solenoid this afternoon.

@MattNW

Anything with a docking-port you can refill your life-support system. Or fuel.
