You can change them yourself, no? Do you mean the default random crew's ages?

But then you'd have to take into account special relativity, making the passenger's ages depend on the speed at which you're
moving away from the earth. It wouldn't be much of a change, not even the DGIV can travel close to the speed of light (as far
as I know), but for realism it would have to be taken into account, especially since long journeys are being considered.
Still, it would be possible I guess.

Although I think that this is pretty pointless and would be way hard to devolop for what its worth, an easier way would be to just have name and a birthday.  Then you could use the sim date to determine how old the person is.

But if you really want to age with time, how about each year (sim time), take the time to just reset the people a year older. ;)

Oh come on! Do you know how much work this will be for poor Dan to do:damn:? And the way this discussion is going you guys are
going to be asking for sickness too. Such things would take years to develop and would most likely end up as a whole
different game then orbiter.

And what do you think it's about? They're just talking about the technical aspects of it, while full topic course changes
are bad, don't be paranoid about letting a topic drift a bit, that's how creative ideas are born m8.

I have to agree on the difficulty of coding this variable.  You couldn't really have it changed based on the sim time in
the upper-right because if you did a quick save, this time would be reset.  Then, of course you would have to have
an 'average' age that everyone would live to, and if you put in a date-of-birth variable to control crew age, you would
have to have them 'die' when they reached an average age, etc., etc.

But at the same time, I do agree that it would add just a bit more realism, say on a trip to Neptune and back, etc., if
the crew did in fact age in Earth years....

All in all, I have to say, though, in my opinion, the amound of coding involved to produce such an effect far outweighs
the benefits at this time, unless Dan can think of a quick way to code it.

Good idea, jer11, just doesn't seem practical at this time.  (again, this is my opinion.  It's ultimately up to Dan).

I don't understand why we would need such a thing, to be honest.  Maybe if you were to model the effects of muscular
dystrophy caused by extended periods of time in zero-G, but that's about the only thing I can think of.

I don't think it's something that's really needed, just a little detail.  You know, when you take a trip to a distant
planet that say, takes a couple of years, and your crew age remains the same.  I can see why jer11 thinks it's a good
idea, but I just don't think it is relevant or worth the time when there are so many other factors going into the
development of the DGIV.

can you put autoage on the DGIV? PLEASE.Dan, and on the config, put: (Name);(birthday). insted of (Name);(Age).
and a little box, "enable autoage" when you setting the name.

Have you downloaded NAASP yet?  If you read the manual, you'll eventually figure out how to extract the LEM.  That is, after
you've completed a successful TLI.

Do you talk to many women?  You should probably do that too.  If you do it right, you can integrate your love of space travel
with your love of women.  Please try to not be obsessive of details.  Every woman, like every spacecraft, has its flaws.
That shouldn't make it any less beautiful.

I don't see why the technical aspects of this would be so hard, simply take the MJD, give each person a 'birthdate'
that's traslated into MJD, then do some simple math.

What was so hard about it agian?
