Hello,

You are developing a payload room on the new DG, right, and this is my idea. You travel to mars in the main ship, you open
the doors and undock from the DG dock inside the payload room, and let this little ship go down to the surface, while main
ship waits for its return--much like the lunar lander back in 69. I just think it would be cool. The only problem is that the
DG's room is too small to hold anything of a decent size (as far as I've seen), so maybe it wouldn't be so hard making the/a
DGIV two-three times bigger, and making a dock inside the payload room. Then the community could easily make ships that dock
in this room--awesome.

Another way is making the DG much bigger, and having another (normal size) DG inside it--much like a baby or whatnot--and
having this undock.

Might be the stupidest idea around, I just think it would be awesome. :friend:

Ok. Didn't think it wasn't a lot of work. =) Keep up the superb work! I haven't seen the size of the DGIV's cargobay that
much, but if it's applicable, maybe a dockport or something, again if it isn't too small. Sure would be great for small
vessels. =D

The DGIV is already very small, now with the cargo one may wonder where is the fuel
and other systems, one may think it have antimatter or such "futuristic" source or energy
(wich doesn't explain where come the smoke and the propellant)

Anyway, cargo is about 3.50 meter long, I doubt even in years 4540 we'll see a space
vessel with such size. A shutlle dock would fill it enterely.

About realism: the dg4config prog allow new thrust very weak, more realistic,
you lost some fun as you can't take off anymore from surface but with 15 day O2
and Iss fuel setting you have something almost realistic for years 2070 or such...

I don't wonder what the DGIV is powered by. Everyone knows it is beer and imagination! :drink:

Sailors on the USS Constitution left Boston in 1778 to fight the British with 4,000 gallons of fresh water and 200
barrels of beer.

Sailors encountered a British ship and confiscated 500lbs. of gold and 400 barrels of beer.

The crew of the Constitution bravely took on a superior British Navy and never lost a battle.

When the USS Constitution returned to Boston in early 1779, they had 500lbs. of gold, 4,000 gallons of stale water,
and 600 empty beer barrels.

Cheers,

"Sun Dog"

this sounds like a good idea but like dan said nearly a year of work and by then it woud need to be redone for a new orbiter
version. But still id love to have a DG-like heavy lifter. Imagine the things you could do.......

Although nowhere as good as DGIII/DGIV :wor: , the DG-EX beats it in the terms of size:
