Hi Dan,

I'm one of the 789 downloads of your add-on, I'm an italian guy so, sorry for my poor english.

I'm also one of the several others that have not post anything about is experience, but only because I've not experienced any
notable bug. In my use of Orbiter and DGx addons your last release work very well.

I've experienced a CTD when I've try to use the "disintegration" feature, but before post a bug report I've tried a fresh
install of Orbiter and beta files, and I've not CTD anymore, using the same Orbiter and MFD configuration.

I've also not experienced any problem about framerate and so on ...

In my, maybe stupid, opinion I've thought that my report was not important.

I'm very sorry about this, and I hope that you can change your idea to stop the DGIV development.

Thank you for your great job.

Guido.

First thanks to all for your kind words,

I didn't slept today, I was thinking about this trying to cool down
and what to do next with this release. I don't like leaving a project
in the middle.

First let me point out what brought this situation: there was some feedbacks
and I thanks people for their goodwill, but not enough and far not enough accurate.
Many report where basic without informations leaving me no choice but to ask more
and more questions and too often people simply didn't replied wich prevented me to
solve the bugs reported. I complained a bit about this, no reactions,I posted a
"HOW TO BETA" advice , no reactions, I then posted a "Public beta discontinued"
wich mean it would go with a "closed" beta team, still no reactions.

At this point, I was really upset and tired, It seem I was speaking in empty space.
I then edited the post and changed it to "DeltagliderIV discontinued" At this time I
had a big doubt about my envy to continue the DGIV into such conditions and doubt
about why I was doing all this work.

My error I think was to release a public beta without any guideline about how
one must do that, what about feature requests, posts in forum and conditions for
download. I was too confident in peoples knowledge about beta testing and it
ended in everything but a serious things.

Now the DGIV is near completion, it would be too bad to leave it as it is.

So, the solution now is to close the beta, go with a beta test team of peoples
that are ready to test seriously. You can register for beta team here:
http://orbiter.dansteph.com/forum/read.php?f=2&i=8301&t=8301

I don't ask a 24h/24H 7/7 work and thousand lines of report but a minimum of tests and seriousness.
Advantage of closed team is that peoples in beta will be involved in devellopment
instead of being just another forum poster, they will have mores responsabilities
and their name in the documentation. I'll need also peoples that would be ready to help
with english correction of doc.

Sorry for the "discontinued" probably the root mistake was mine.
Anyway I'm sure that it may be good from time to time to recall to peoples that a
community cannot live if there is no helps and exchanges and how good it is to not
only take but also sometime give to others.

thanks for reading ;)

The best news i've heard today!

And very nice looking cargo bay! :)

Anyway, I would be more then willing to volunteer and spend a few hours a day beta testing this fine new add-on of
yours, as well as help you correct some english spelling mistakes. I'll wait for you to post your new topic regarding
the beta team, if you'll have me off course :)

Great news. I downloaded the beta 4 but it is so beautifully involved that all my Orbiter time has been taken up learning to
fly it, let alone testing for bugs! As an Orbiter, I am probably not experienced enough to be at all useful in beta testing
but I reckon my english is pretty good so I would be more than happy to review your documentation.

Thanks Dan, I started reading this thread from the begining and it was like a lightning over my head but your post on
the second thread was like an angel's voice. I really don't have much time for Orbiter so I don't have to play with your
beautiful creation or any other toys. I just wan to say, please don't live such a beautiful creation half done, that
wouldn't be far, not for us but for the Deltaglider, your Deltaglider is the best ship in Orbiter, it surpasses all the other
addons. I love your work Dan, you are very talented. I will be able to use orbiter this weekend so I'll be able to use
the Deltaglider IV. I thank you millions of times for spending your time to make this addon for us, and giving it free.

Very thankful.

Hubleman ;)

Good to know that you thought about the subject. Dont get distressed.
Didnt know that you where so in need for help. I thought that was something that you just enjoy to do at your free
time, something to pratice your knowledge . A hobby.

I ll try to help somehow.
- First I ll try to join as a beta tester. But didnt found the new beta list. dont know how much I can help
with english correction of documentation...Im brazilian
- Second Im a web programmer with knowledge in ASP, HTML, Javascript, SQL , Asp.NET, Css, and a little bit of VB.
Can I help somehow?

You know whats wrong in "Orbiter" and in the "Liftoff Space Shuttle Simulator".
Just think about the idea of doing an Orbiter of your own, for sale...
;)

DAN! I understand your feelings, but there were other factos. Like the NEW YEAR hollidays.. We were all away.

Glad to see it's back on!

I myself can't wait for the SYMPHONY though!  (Hey, I'm being honest!)

A game would be always the ultimate work for me, I had already various advanced projects including
3d engine etc etc, now with the success of FsPassengers I have enough project and work for almost
two years. Maybe, one time, a full game....

The thread to register for beta test is here:

Ahhhh man I never got to see dgIV . I would report any bugs but its kinda hard to do if i cant download it! I could
make a video and put it on youtube ...im deltawing777 you can search my name find my vids. got a couple for orbiter.
working on better framerate and quality. I had to sacrifice framerate due to the 10 minute/xx meg restriction on
youtube.

No you won't ;)
The DGIV is still in béta phase, there is still much testing needed at the moment,
and Dan is still developing the project... Don't be afraid, you just have to wait a
little while, like we all have...

There is no need to place that much emoticons after your poste m8, we get the point ;)
Well, the DGIV is still in beta, you just have to register...
Another project that is worked on: SymphonyIV. Although the project is halted for giving the
DG IV full green lights, you're maybe interested...

Yeah, Dan and the Beta team. Or you can take the source from the stock DG and create your own. But I imagine you'll
have quite a bit of catchup to do.  :)

Tritoch!  How could you, my good man?  Have you no Appreciation?  No Humanity?
I'd give you some pointers on how to diffuse the tensions in Iraq, but I'm sure you'd just disregard any further
advice for a brilliant eleven year old moron and just continue to make it lots worse.

I couldn't agree more Reekchaa. My prayers go out to Dan and his family. The DGIV has become so unimportant at this point it
isn't even funny. I was traveling yesterday and just logged on to see this news. :(  I only wish for Dan to get better at
this point, and that is all that matters.
