Hi Dan

The panels that comes with your awesome DGIII Addon are from your own invention or you extract them from some
place in the web and modified for your own pourpose?????????

I've started to build my own Addon and just this question comes into my head, I Need to create my own panel by
myself or there's a place where i can download some free images????????

I took the base panel from the stock DG and modified it with photoshop
so all the adds are "hand drawed".

The best way if your not used to this is to take some existing panel
and copy part of it. But you will need a tool as photoshop that is able to work
with layer otherwise it's a pain.

Can I take any panel that comes with OrbiterSDK Base distribution??????????

I was thinking to do that, but i don't want neither steal the work of anybody nor annoying asking for permission to
modify it (Someone can get up set)....

Perhaps, i was thinking to take some free gauges for MS Flight Simulator and using it to make my own panel !!!!!!!!!
after all, they are free !!!!!!!!!!!!!

A lot of ship are modified by a lot of people in Orbiter
if it's only small modif I don't think anyone will get upset,
if it's big modif you just need to ask the author and give credit
in your release documentation. I don't see any difference beetween a free
fs panel and a free Orbiter panel if the author is ok there is no problem.

For the stock DG you may ask Frying tiger as for the shuttlA
for others ship, I dont know.

I worked on the dg panel because I was just planning to add
one or two button for my private use and I finally ended with the DGIII :)

But If you plan a big project perhaps you may better start from complete scratch.
drawing a new panel isn't difficult. the most challenging is to program the logic
behind it. FS gauge don't work at all in Orbiter it's a completely different system.
I know that there is a panel SDK but I never tried it so I don't know
if you can do many things with it, otherwise you should work
with C++ and the panel SDK.

The new Shuttle A was also made by Frying tiger. The panel on the Dragonfly was made by radu.

my project is not too big but iw ill try to start from complete scratch, i think it will be difficult beacause i need to learn
PHOTOSHOP or Some other image editting program with layer capabilities, i know some about basic programming in
C++ (still learning) and guess i can handle.

About MS Flight Simulator Gauges i know that are not compatible with Orbiter, that's obvious, but i got a program that
can extract the images from the gauge and then convert to BMP or JPEG... in that whay i can worry only in the logical
behind the panel, just making some modifications.

Anyway.... i have a lot of work to make...!!!!!!! :wall:

Many thanks for the advice.
