I tested and it works great!! I just think lacks one minor thing: The ability to set different colors on
the different values. Otherwise it works great!!

Works for me too. I agree with the colors if that doesn't make it too complicated or isn't too difficult
to change.

Looks Great, Dan~!

The whole 'Color per value' sounds like a cool idea, but color coding it per display mode works well,
too.

What's everyone else think?   Nice value select list!

I will add at least a "base heading" value if one is selected in the map MFD

don't know how to call it to make it clear if anyone have an idea ?
what it do:

Show in degree if your trajectory pass right over the base (0°)
or slightly on the left (-xx°) or on the right (xx°)

So this isn't really an "heading" it's the relative difference beetween
your trajectory and the base. (don't depend also where your nose is)

Actually a "Base Heading" in degrees (not relative to craft) would be more useful.

The landing MFD shows GoLeft/GoRight but that isn't verry useful when you are trying to align with
a runway. The standard HUD shows a Heading Indicator anyway.

Maybe you can have both options on the new HUD. :)

I vote for a "Base Direction" in degrees as an option

..... or what do you guys think?

PS. Maybe a "Side Slip Angle" would come in handy too

Maybe "Base Alignment" or " Align Base" ?

mhhh "base direction" seem explicit,

an Heading will not do the job because you can be banked 60° right with 40° AOA
in this case an "heading" value will be useless (while your nose isn't the same heading than your
trajectory),  in contrary a "Base direction" will show you 0° meaning your right over the target and
it's time to reset banking.

Also you have already an heading indicator on the main hud, the purpose of "base direction"
or "base slip angle ???" is to help aligning your trajectory when at high speed you try to correct
while banking left or right with an AOA >0°.

This indicator is missing now because you need to bank at 0° to know if your trajectory is right
(And I don't like at all the landing MFD)

"Base slip angle" would be more explicit ?  (you know better than me, that's your language  :)

Looks really cool! 8)

Concerning further values: Since you have already implemented "range" and plan to add "base
direction", it would be great if you added "distance to base", too.

About another name for "base direction": If I got it right, this one should show the difference
between your current course to the waypoint (= bearing, = the directon you have to fly to get
there) and your actual ground-track. In aviation this is called "drift angle", as far as I know. But
maybe something like "approach course deviation", "lateral error" , "approach path adjustment" or
"off-course correction" would be more explicit. Just suggestions...

Can't wait to have this on board of the DII

For the name of the base direction, would "relative direction" or "relative heading" be intuitive?

Hi
Course deviation is what you would call this information, but is it going to fit on the HUD? Or
maybe CDI > Course Deviation Indicator as in a VOR reciever (the needle).

The slip angle indicator dial that existed in the stock version was useful too, but it may make it
confusing if we have a CDI since it is the same type of indication (-xx° or +xx°)...

The name on the hud could be changed to whatewer fit you better I basically needed a name for
the "variable" in the program.

Thanks Now I have a vast choice of name :)

I will rework this this week and add color and more variable as suggested.

I'm somewhat busy those time with real work because we change
our desk from place (as well as the mainframe computer, (as400)
and all the storage since 1992)
but I'll continue working on the DGII soon :)

This hud isn't released for yet in any dgII version
I will advertise when the next version of the DGII
will come but for now all the announce made refere to the
FUTUR release.

About the HUD utilities I'm working currently on the color version,
will release it today or tomorrow as beta (notice that the hud himself still
not available in the dgII)
