Couple of Questions...

(1/1)

Arkalius:
Does the DeltaGliderII carry less fuel than the original (without the low fuel option checked)?
I was able to get into a 200 - 300 KM orbit with the original with a little less than 50% fuel left, but
the DG2 takes more. Is this due to the turbo, or is there just less fuel?

Also, the launch azimuth equation doesn't seem to work right for me... am I missing something?
Using the formula Launch Azimuth = arcsin (cos (desired_orbital_inclination) / cos (launch_
latitude)) with a desired inclination of 74.51 (ISS inclination) and a lattitude of 28.34N (KCS
lattitude), I get 17.66, but it's supposed to be 42 for ISS from KCS right? What am I doing wrong?

bgreman:
You have to use the equatorial reference point for ISS's inclination, because you're using the
equatorial reference point for both launch azimuth and launch latitude.  It's around 51.x, which, if
you'll notice deviates about 23' from your given inclination of 74.51'.  This is due to the 23.x' axial
tilt of the earth to ecliptic.  To convert your value (which is ecliptic reference) to earth-equatorial
reference, just subtract 23.x' (sorry, can't remember the exact value).  Then the equation should
work fine.

DanSteph:
Arkalius,

Same fuel but I increased a bit the consumption as it was too easy

Dan

DanSteph:
23.26° for the equatorial inclinaison
