When ever I quit the sim using ctrl q the launchpad doesn't reappear. I just end up on the desktop.

Still does it. Reinstalled which helped for a while but it's doing it again.

have you  modified some parameters in Extra menu like
debuggin options about orbiter shutdown ?

verify De-allocate memory and display launchpad dialog is selected.

If your keyboard is a U.S Keyboard like this

1. Look at \Orbiter\Keymap.cfg  do you see this commande Quit= A CTRL ?
Yes, you see it, so
2. Try Ctrl+A

What happens ?

In Keymap.cfg file, the command line  Quit= Q CTRL his a command for AZERTY Keyboard and the "Q" is below the "A"
I think that the main thing is the localization of the "A" key but not his wording (and "Q" on AZERTY Keyboard amounts to an "A" on QUERTY Keyboard).

To sum up :
To quit Orbiter on AZERTY Keyboard : Ctrl Q    (Quit= Q CTRL command line in Keymap.cfg file)
To quit Orbiter on QUERTY Keyboard : Ctrl A   (Quit= A CTRL command line in Keymap.cfg file)
I think...

Orbiter 2010+P1 et 2006+P1 sur acer TM7513WSMi/Vista + ST90,  sans trop de problème... si ce n'est celui de l'affichage du planétarium sur 2010+P1...

Go to Extra> Debugging Options> Orbiter Shutdown Options
Choose De-allocate memory and display launchpad dialog

Chances are you currently have Terminate Orbiter Process chosen.

Hope this helps. Let us know.

[mode hors sujet]

Simple constatation :
Bizarre ce récent message de sunshine annoncé pendant un certain temps dans le sommaire comme émanant de DanSteph, mais dont celui-ci n'est apparemment pas l'expéditeur... :wonder:

... Or "Respawn Orbiter Process". I've chosen this one because it works better than the first option, at least for me.
