Is there a way to make this add-on http://www.orbithangar.com/searchid.php?ID=1801 compatible with orbiter
2006?, if yes plz tell me how or does it work without making it compatible?

Well, why not try it yourself and tell us if it works? What I can tell is that this add-on does not contain modules
(program code), which increases its chances to be compatible with the current Orbiter version.

You may need to move stuff around, though.

I meant "just try if it works as is". And yes, it does.

DGIV insertion into Vesta orbit

Edit: OK, when I advised you to download and try it I forgot you mentioned somewhere else you were on dial-up. As you can see from the screenshot the resolution of the textures is not very high but still probably has nothing to do with the real thing as we do not have any high-resolution photos (AFAIK). Decide for yourself if it is worth the download.

Edit2: After playing with this add-on some more, I am starting to like it more and more. The textures become slightly blurred from up close but the 3D models are great. And now something funny:

DGIV perched on top of 1998 KY26 (yes, this piece of rock is really that small)

In case it is not clear from the image, this is not "DGIV and 1998 KY26 in the background". This is "DGIV landed on 1998 KY26".

How did you land on something that small? I couldn't even preform the orbital insert for Phobos with the DGIV, cause Phobos
is so small.

Oh, wait. Scenario Editor.

:stupid:

How about NEAR Shoemaker that landed on Eros, it's too small with a speed of either 1.5 or 1.8 m/sec. without damage.

Look, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NEAR_Shoemaker

NEAR Shoemaker is available in Orbit Hangar.

its easier to fly to phobos then it is to get to the moon somehow. :wonder:

I plead guilty :pfff: Though the trip from Mars to Vesta was real (IMFD).
