Lv 11 is the future development of Earth textures said http://orbit.m6.net/forum/default.aspx on Feb. 2008.

But after that, I can't find Lv 11 Earth because the official orbiter forum is dead.

What is available is what exists.
However there is hope.
http://www.setheden.com/LandSat/index.htm

Orbiter LandSAT project will attempt to improve textures from LandSAT imagery, but it goes slow, for there are tons of
Gigabytes of images that need to be converted from one projection to another and it has to be filtered and processed
to remove clouds, generate all the data that is required for color, reflection, etc.

With current tools, it is like digging a new Canal de Panama using a tea spoon.
This is lots of work...
Since people here collaborate in their spare time for no money, it may take long...

Now that's an interesting simile that I've never heard before.

Tons of gigabytes of unprocessed data. But something higher than level 10 will definitely be hundreds of MB
download and will probably need 2+GB RAM. And, of course, first Orbiter should start supporting Level > 10.

There is a NASA-provided color-filtered LandSat available out there, it looks something like the tiles made from it in this
O-F thread:
http://www.orbiter-forum.com/showthread.php?t=895
Not a perfectly good dataset, but better than almost nothing.

Even current Orbiter supports >Lv10 after a fashion, thru a mechanism known as SURFTILES.

Lv11 textures for whole of Earth will be about 200-300Mb download and some 500-700 Mb unpacked, and with careful design of a graphic system it should take on the average a 100-150Mb of RAM for them, slightly more for Lv12+.

(check out the three images at the top)

They seem to have been uploaded today (according to HTTP headers).
