Maybe  the issue will clear up then. I can't imagine why it would be passworded though :wonder:

I've just tried to get to the forums too! I don't know what's up. Does anyone have any idea what's going on?

Don't know, but I just spent the last half hour changing my passwords on all my accounts since I tried my forum
password (which didn't work).  The past week or so the forum boards have been acting strange, and call me
paranoid, but I don't trust the internet and I'd rather be safe than sorry.

Perhaps not the good period to enter one current password there ?
More probably it's broken because they changed something but in
case it was hacked...

If it's a "m6" only password not much a problem I think... we only risk
our posts.

It was working for me about two hours ago, but I just tried now and it won't let me in.

I also can't connect to the main Orbiter page at http://orbit.m6.net, nor at http://www.orbitersim.com, so it's affecting
all of M6 and not just the forums.

ok just tried m6 link....

someone had some fun with a .htaccess file or folder access right either it
was an error either a way to get your password (more probably 1st solution
but who know ?)

Anyway there is 0% chance that you login with this box with any m6 password
so better to not try.

We must simply wait that the box disappear and problem is solved.

More likely M6 problem, but maybe there is something up with the university server. It has happened before where
the main site wouldn't work because, I think, university stuff. The forum and the main page don't usually both go
down at the same time though...

hmmm... as my homepage, the main site is working. If I leave the site, then put in orbitersim.com and go, it gives me
the password thing. The forum I do not have access to. I can access all parts of the main page.

This is simply an error somewhere, I can't remember if Radu was updating anything on the site, but it's possible he
just forgot to revert everything afterwards.
Also, Nick, the forums and the university server are completely separate. Martin's homepage still works.

Most likely a problem at m6, should be back online in some hours. Damn... this bug really disturbed my morning routine of
reading M6 forum first and newspaper second...

I thought they were seperate. But when I put ANYTHING shorter than just http://orbit.medphys.ucl.ac.uk/orbit.html it
doesn't work.

The problem is at M6.net's end. The Orbiter homepage is hosted in the UK, while M6.net is the US. Not related at all.
The www.orbitersim.com and http://orbit.m6.net addresses are handled by M6.net.

I have the same problem here.
It is not known to me that Radu was currently working on / updating the forum, other than the idea about the forum section
layout.

Radu has been informed.

regards,
mcduck

Actually, we cannot use that forum software because the server doesn't support PHP.
Also, if you want 100% security you should not use PHP-BB, because it is very well known and open source. (YAV is also open
source, but less known).

I'm glad I found this forum just now - I was starting to get paranoid! I had a small disagreement with OrbiterFan over a
deleted thread at the m6 forum and I thought my IP had been completely banned! Phew! :)

Neat. Well the downloads that are supposed to be hosted by M6 are at least working. Maybe M6, maybe Orbiter
admin folk. No matter what, let's just wait since there is nothing WE can do.
