Only for the forum of Dansteph, th epictures and informations about the development in progress.
There are lot of work yet, thus be lenient about the mistake or missing parts. I estimate the work finish at 50%.
Nevertheless that show you a good preview.

This pictures are not from Orbiter, but from the render of Anim8or.

first integration of Soyuz (stage1 and 2) in Orbiter, and on the pad LC1.
Remember that the pad is not finish yet.

You can see on the thread "Soyuz FG" new pictures with complete soyuz.
Note that the animation of arms and towers are not realize yet.

Very nice work Mustard!! Is it not true, that the Russians bring this launch vehicle to the launch pad on a railroad car?
If it is true, I can not imagine how you would design that, but what I have seen of your work for Orbiter, you could
probably do it though!! :D

Yes in the reality the Soyouz is move to the pad over a train. In my addon i will test if it's possible. But now i must
finish the mesh of the pad.
Thx for your congrats, it's a pleasure to read that.

I do not know if you could do all those kind of animations with the train Mustard, so it is not real important for this
addon! Just having this great launch pad, along with the Soyuz will be just great by themselves!

Modelling the railroad car and locomotive should not be difficult, afterall there are a couple of train simulators (Trainz
comes to mind), and others, especially Greg Burch have prepared some surface vehicles. The problem might be in separating the
booster from the car when it is raised to the pad and gantry. I am not sure how they accomplish this with the KSC mover.

Yes it's the problem. I think that it's not possible to move the launcher to the pad and take off after that. We must
probably use 2 differents scenarios.
But i will test it after the end of th emodeling of the pad.

I have used one attachment definition in a custom multistage.cfg file (under a custom name + directory structure of one of my addon
projects) in order to attach a spacecraft (powered by its own dll) to a multistage stack.

By the same order of ideas it might be possible to simulate the train part and even the pad structures capable of rotation if
making them with spacecraft.dll (and using a custom attach definition / custom cfg for both) + also adding compatible attach
points in a customised multistage.cfg.

Of course this would require a better study about how things happen in real life (transition from train to pad) and some
non-standard use of generic dlls. The train + rotation structures could even be part of the same "vessel" and the train be
more defined like a "robotic arm", etc

Not sure if, given the circumstances, you will have time to research that but I leave another suggestion in the air anyway ;)

António

They don't. Everything is assembled vertically in the Vehicle Assembly Building on-top a Mobile Launch Platform.

On the day of the rollout(google the word) the one of the to Crawler Transporters(which this January turned 40!)
moves under the MLP and the stack and uses hydraulic jacks to lift it's entire chassi up 6 ft(2 m) and gets connected
to the MLP. Then it rolls sloooowly out of the confines of the VAB and out to the pad.

BTW, looks great Mustard! For the Soyuz LV transportation to the pad and subsequent rotation to vertical, have you
looked into the robotic arm function of Spacecraft3.dll?

The Soyuz LV can be attached to the transportation train and then through the use of robotic arm joint you rotate it
vertical and detach on the pad. Then the train can be driven away for launch.

This is just an idea.

the robotic arm is not a good solution because we must put the launch exactly on the godd position, else the
launcher can go through the tower.
But at now i finish the mesh of pad and soyuz. I will study this question after. But your suggestion are interesting and
i thanks you for that.

If it will work, the method suggested by Antonio is very elegant and simple. Kind of like treat the rail car as a ship with
one attachment point then raise the booster to a gantry with an attachment point on the other side of the booster. Release
the one attachment and activate the other.  I hope it works. I can see plenty of applications.

Orbiter Fan:  I wasn't referring to the real crawler but to the addon one prepared for KSC. I speak from ignorance here
because I haven't worked with that addon, but do they transfer a booster from the crawler to the pad?

i have a bad news.
My computer is out of order (motherboard or CPU fail). So i can't finish this projects (Soyuz and pad LC1 ) in the limit
date (end of november). This limit date is the consequence of my big real project. i will receive my house the 24 nov
and i will have lot of work in.
Consequently, this projects will delayed until Feb/March 07.
I'm sorry but it's not my fault.
i hope continue little by little each evening and reduce this new release date.

I resume my work for LC1 (Pad 5) ...
I restart the ground texture because i did a mistake, i had use the texture for LC31.
So i must build the real texture for LC1, Nevertheless with this sat view we have cloud over the pad (google earth pictures). So i must modify it and delete this clouds and their shadows.

This week i reworked about the ground texture. For the previous version i used the texture of LC31. But now i restart with the right texture of LC1, with a best resolution. I deleted the clouds from the sat view (form Google map).

Next step, the building of the area.
Note on this view the Train from Proton pad by Papyref.

Mustard,

I just started browsing these forums, but I think your work is great and it's really cool seeing the pictures of the day.
Please keep it up -- I'm sure there are many people who think the same way as me.

Be proud of your work.  :)

I have a question though.  Will you be able to roll the rocket on the train all the way down to those buildings after the
turn in the tracks?  That'd be very cool.
