hehe. I'm bored... :)

Okay, now everyone lives in different parts of the world, so I would be curious to start a little experiment.

I want to see exactly what the weather is like where you live right now. and compare it to others. It's always
amazing to hear that some people in florida are sunbathing when it's freezing here.

For example. I think that chicago must have been teleported to the south pole right now, because it's been snowing
all day, and my uncle says it'll continue until tommorow too. We're expecting maybe 10 inches, But I'm optimistic
about this, and hope dearly that it'll be twice as much and everything will shut down by monday.

currently, I think it's like 15F here. (-9.5C) that's only going to get colder because the sun just set.

how are things by you guys?

Can't see, too dark. It's quite cold becuase it's winter. It was very foggy this morning though, visibility was down to
about 50 meters.

that's what?  about 175 ft?

It's better now, but when the snow was falling down, the wind was almost blowing it back up, and I'd guess we
didn't have visibility much better than that.

Positioned about 60 km west of Toronto. Time right now is 0231 EST. Temperature is -24C,  windchill is -34C, we've been
experiencing the Alberta Clipper all day, that hit Chicago earlier. So far about 15cm of snow with more coming.

Excellent weather for Orbiter and hot chocolate, though I must admit to a bit of X-country skiing earlier in the day.

Weather is what you make of it.  This is why we're called the Great White North.  We go out and play in it while certain
wussy types below the 45th parallel, just bitch and moan.

I always like snow. I would say that you guys are lucky. And it kinda sucks that there are no 'real' mountains in
Britain so we can't go skiing much even when it does snow. :(

Just so you know, I'm not one of those wussy types. :) my uncle said, that while he was out driving his car, there
were people who were hanging a banner saying "were tired of this, we're heading to florida"

:)

H-e-l-l, I never wear any gloves or hats, or scarves, or anything, just my faithful coat, which I must confess is not
entirely suited to cold temperatures. :)

I love the snow. while illinois is in the middle of the "great plains", so there's no mountains either, I do enjoy
watching the white stuff fall, as well as taking lots of blankets and snuggling up when the temperature is freezing. :)
as it is far more beautiful than it is the next day, when all of the pollution of the city is absorbed into the stuff and it
becomes a nasty grey mushy goop right next to the road.

Here in south-germany it's about 0°(Celsius of course :)). We have a light snow shower but the snow won't stay long.
I suppose it'll be gone until this evening. Anyway, there's a slow wind which makes the snow flakes floating along slowly on the other side of my window. The visibility is at about 2km and the sun is only a small, a bit brighter area in
the heavy low clouds. I don't like this kind of weather though I also love snow! :)

Hi All!

In Paris, 14h55 local time, 7.5 °C outside, clear skies with light clouds... nice winter day... but it will for sure become
quite cold when we catch the polar air mass that's currently above eastern US and Canada, hopefully Atlantic Ocean will
damper the effect!!

well, as an update to my condition, it's somewhat colder now, but the windchill brings it to about -16.6 C

it's still snowing, but only lightly. not enough to make the plows' efforts in vain, I'm afraid.. :(

listening to some catchy PSX music, that was ripped from the CD itself. very catchy. ;)

It's cloudy, that's about as exciting as it gets in Britain. That is until the Atlantic Conveyor stops, then we'll end up
with weather like Freespace.

Hey Freespace, I wasn't referring to most who live in the Northern Tier.  It's fun from up here to watch what happens to
Atlanta when they get a half-inch of snow.  Shuts them all down. (Maybe Washington will get a whiteout for GWB's lying in party.)

Aren't you glad you don't live in Buffalo?

Oh I see.. :)

Yeah, in arkansas, it rarely snows, and people generally get uneasy even if there's only a hint of snow falling, much
less accumulation. :)

I sortof wish things would shut down that easily up here then..

less school... and more time for doing stuff. :)

heeheh, well back here its cloudy and boring.. :) not too cold though.. around 0 celsius, which would be, what around
32 F for you non-modern people :)

I have another idea though... Why don't we compare the NEWS we hear. I wonder how the same event is reported
by different agencies and services. I can't pick an event off the top of my head right now.. Tsunami is old news, not
really much to fuss around Bush's inauguration, but to report it happened..

Anyway, pick an event, which is global or regional in nature (not local anyway) and we all keep a track on how it's
reported by our own news outlets..

I can track CNN Europe, NBC Europe, BBC, my national news, Croatia news, RTL, possibly some italian outlets too :) I
have no reason to watch it otherwise, maybe this will motivate me to become a little more.. hmm.. "cosmopolitan"?

Cheers,

well. I don't normally watch tv because I can just feel my brain cells dying when I see that CNN logo.

:)

I don't even have cable, and the best I can do is watch the local news, but I'm sure they've got a blurb or two on
international things every now and again.

If by,"modernization" you mean "party-pooping" then by all means, lets go back to the older, katana-wielding days! ;)

It's been a wierd day here, first a very fine sprinkling of snow in the morning, then grey and cloudy with some rain, then a
bit sunny, and then it hailed for a little while. All in all, rather odd. (Stereotype British, smashing.)
