Schimz, is the mining laser small enough to fit in one of the DG3's air intakes without horribly restricting airflow (also,
allowing the intake to close)?

nope
1 - the DGIII doesnt have enough electrical power.
2 - puttin' the laser near the intake was too sexual explicit

I was actually thinking of equipping ym DG3 with two of them, hiding them in the intakes so the stealth characteristics
aren't ruined. *wasn't thinking or meaning anything sexual about it*
Guess I'll have to find another way to mount a weapon on my DG3...

You don't really need a weapon. Just fly over your enemy and burn him with the hoover thrusters

Capt. Simon Monroe would like to offer his services as a freelance transport pilot. He can haul up to four passengers, 3.5
tons of cargo, or some combination therof. He will not enter the Earth system for any reason (and yes, this includes the Moon
as well).
Prices depend on cargo and destination. Travel time depends on destination and date of departure.

We want a transport to the Alderan system. No cargo, just passengers, myself the boy, two droids and no questions asked. Lets
just say we would like to avoid any imperial entanglements.

That's such a harsh word.
I prefer to use "unrestricted shipping"

To All Solar Members
Just a thought but maybe we should have a fixed Time/Date line established otherwise nobody will be
able to transport or fry anyone as our systems will not be all in the same place ( not very good for trade or Coms)
and what about a unified monetry system, otherwise we could just invent the cash to pay for anything we need
then freight rates or product costs would be meaningless,
Note:
InterGalatic Space Tug 1 should be finished in the next 2 days
Just the Cargo pods to put in place
Each Pod 3000 tons max weight and first assembly has :
4 bulk mineral units
4 Liquid Tanks
4 Liquid Gas tanks
2 Security Units
2 Vessel Transport Units (400mtrs long x 100mtrs diam)
Weekend will be testing time
a round trip Earth Jupiter Planed just to find out how she handles and how fast
Warning
Test ship will be accompanyed buy 2 Agememnon Heavy Cruisers so anyone with funny idears about Mining
lasers attached to DeltaGliders be warned. ( althou early tests show Delta Gliders much too slow to catch the Tug)

Venus is willing to establish some sort of fixed currency exchange rates with a solar currency, but will never submit to
using inflated foreign electronic blips backable by nothing.
Fixed time is alright, though.
I say we set it for current time, + 100 earth years. yea or nea?

Mars will also agree to a fixed exchange rate to some kind of reference solar currency, but will not abandon it's own
Credits. We've invested too much into our completely automated electronic transaction system (which finally almost
resembles barter trade again!) to degrade it to any kind of standard physical currency system.
3. Jan, 2105 then? and since notations will vary here as well.. 1.3.2105, 3.1.2105, 1-3-2105, etc
I propose
2105.01.03... or 1050103 for short
if nothing else, it resembles StarDate and is very convenient for sorting needs
Also it might be interesting to think about a SolDate system. A generalized notation for the whole Solar System.
Terran time measurements are.. well.. so.. local
Sol is the only constant in the Solar system, so we might base a
common unit on the star itself or its relation to some outside reference point.. Like center of the Galaxy or something
like that?

1 "cycle" = 1/1000 Solar Max = 3,132,987,542,866,683 cesium pulses (avg) = 40815.08117 seconds (approx)
= 5680.25135 minutes (approx) = 94.67085 hours (approx)
I'm sure we can rig a working time system from this unit,

I like the stardate version
I propose some limitations when defining your fleet or anyone can define that he have, let's say a fleet of 150 DG's or
Earth's size transport ship.
How about using register date / post number to calculate ship number?
Let's say something like this:
0.2([days on Dan's forum if available] + [post number on Dan's forum]) + 0.1([days on main forum] + [posts on main forum])
Additionaly there could be a rule that someone may have a ship he wants if he created it himself?

All Solar Nation Members
For the date it only needs somthing simple so that every one plays on the same board
can't send freight to Mars if your mars is in a different Date/Time than my system
how about 2005 jan 1st + 100 years 00:00 GMT Earth Time ( being that nobody is allowed to claim Earth
as their own), then each day you fire up the system you fast forward to the correct date and time and continue the
game where you left off, also the posts here would reflect the real time and day
set up a seperate orbiter folder just for this. then your other projects will not be affected
as for the fleets , some people can't or dont wish to make their own, just to use other exsiting Meshes, thats OK as
long as credit is given were due
SO start off with a difined number of all the exsiting vessels allowed for each person ( they can use them or not ) but
they must declare them from the start, so that if you contract to sent a ship to Jupiter today and the voyage takes 10
years there and back you cant use this ship next week for some other contract !! or suddenly magic up another one
ot of the blue mist, from there on you can only increase your fleet by building them your self or contracting out for
them ( If I start out with 4 DeltaGliderIII's) and wish another one I would need to make some kind of deal with Dan to
get it as he is the owner of the rights to this ship,
With the Money we could agree along the lines that the Earth being the common unit (say the Euro) and 100 Euro
= 1 Solar Dollar Then is just a matter of fixing a starting point so every one starts off the same and wins or losses
according to his trading abilitys, as for natural resorces on each planet, you can't fuel your ships from your home
planet if you dont have a fuel production plant established there, or the material resorces to make it. and the
unlimited option in Orbiter is banned from the start ?!!
Like wise all bases and production plants will need to be declared from the start.
The whole system of course is open to cheating ( as in real life ) but in the end if you abuse this you will lose out
because the other members would refuse to deal or comunicate with you, or even ban you from the game!!
Kick this around between you as a starting point.

I like it, but I fear it's a bit more than I bargained for.
All I want is to have some bases/ships orbiting venus to give the pretense that I own it in our little universe.
If I get my blasted destroyer working, I'll focus on porting the arcadia station to orbiter as well, but current prospects
are dim, as I don't know what the H-E-double hockey sticks I'm doing right now.
something about "diffuse" information..
and I need something some 3Dmax to fix the problem, and that appears to cost money, so I need time to.. uh..
...locate a free copy...
...and coat that thing in solid wax (metaphorically) so it'll reflect the fricking sun!
