and on that note. I think I found the perfect game to replace my Frontier craving, since I sort of gave up on trying to
get it to work...

Universal Combat (a successor to the older Battlecruiser 3000AD - the background story is still the same I think)
This thing has got EVERYTHING a guy would want to do in space! You command a space carrier (or something else,
depending on your caste/career), you get to choose your career, you get to command other ships, fighters, shuttles,
build bases, wage war in space, in air, at sea and on land. When you're on ground you can do it in 1st person and
man/fly just about anything from buggies to tanks, from fighters to personnel transports.. You can capture bases,
space stations and there are of course other races and factions... To top it ALL off, you can still do things the old Elite
way. Be a freelance trader not a fancy military commander.. you can also be a diplomat, fighter jock, marine (ground
missions only) and some other stuff.. I played the demo last night and couldn't get enough of it!

Sure the graphics is kind of sucky, and some bugs even CTD the game, but the concept is amazing. The 1st person
part of the game though has a long way to go to be comparable to medal of honor. But the space battles are almost
perfect.

Anyone know the name of a virus that disables Norton's Auto-Protect? I've spoken to someone already but they didn't know the

Freespace...you should see the new Alienware Aurora ALX...
That thing easily blows yours out of the water...along with most other home PCs...
I bet that the load time on the most complex Orbiter install (with all the addon stuff for our solar system...the
asteriods...and moons...and pluto...etc. plus textures and other stuff) is virtually instantaneous...

Yes, it is somewhat more impressive.

I could have had a computer like that when I was assembling mine, if only I had wanted to spend twice what I did for
an extra 20-30% more performance.

It's got a comparitavely better graphics card, (which is the #1 thing I wish to upgrade) faster hard drives, (though mine have bigger capacity with 2 120 gig hd's compared to their 74 gig'ers)

it has somewhat better ram, (but again, I have twice as much) a better sound card (but I chose my sound card
knowing that any improvements over what I have would be hardly detectable by the human ear)

The thing going for it is it's 64 bit CPU, but we all know that 32 bit proggys can't run in 64 bit mode, so the processor
has to emulate 32-bits, making it not-that-great until more proggys come out for 64 bits.

I researched my pc very thoroughly. I'm positive that my pc has aged very well considering it's a year old.

That thing costs $5000

a year ago, I paid $2000 for mine, which means it's probably worth $1500 now. (which came with the monitor and speakers, as well) which is the better deal, hmmm?

Just finished Half Life 2. It just blew me away, the graphics are far too good to be true. Everything looks real and
believable (appart from the sci-fi elements which could just not be invented yet). It is the one 1st person shooter
everyone must play!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Though I can imagine that some people will need to buy an entire new PC to be able
to run it.

P.S. sorry, I'm in a copying mood at the moment.

Yeah I heard about HL 2... Although I must shamefully admit I didn't even play part 1.... The ripped version I got, had
a virus, and I never bothered to get another one later on.

I will give it a try as soon as I get a chance. I hear that this game set up some pretty outstanding standards in the
1st person shooter arena. If Wolfstein and Doom made the genre, than HL raised it to a new level...

Yeah, they'll be fine, though I won't be able to run it at the highest graphics settings (though I bet I can come close).

I'm just playing HL2 at Krytom's. I'm also playing HL1 on my own PC. They are both great games. I just got about a quarter of
the way through HL2 in a few hours, while Krytom was sleeping/puking/'feeling like poo'. I could do nothing to help him. As
for HL1 I think I'm about three quarters way through. You can tell, beacause it's started to get hard.

As for HL2, amazing graphics, amazing gameplay and an exceptional and original physics engine. It Rocks!

I dunno. It's quite infectious so I'm guessing it's a virus. I'm not allowed to eat so I'm really annoyed! All I can
consume is water and pain killers. I think I will be getting well soon though, however I hope to be able to play in the
concert tomorrow. I'm the only bass guitar player available (despite the fact that I've only been playing for 2 or 3
months), I don't know what's going to happen if I can't play.
