Well, I'm not really going to say anything about it.

It's a good thing that nobody was injured.

Indeed, though I hear that another group is going to run it's first manned test flight in a few weeks.

It's turning into a horse race. ;)

Can't wait to stand by the finish line.

Uhm...which disaster is it?

I heard Da Vinci had a glitch...and I know for sure Armadillo (
http://media.armadilloaerospace.com/2004_08_08/48InchCrash.mpg ) had this heartbreaking smashup on 8 August
2004.

OK, I didn't look at the site. :)
The rocket of another X-Prize team (don't remember the name) exploded short after lift-off.

Not surprising really.  Ever think of how many ships were lost just exploring this planet? Or how many aircraft went
down developing our ability to fly?

There is always a price.  Usually paid in lives.

Oh, yeah.  As much as I'd like to bet on the Canadian Arrow (may Diefenbaker rot in hell, for the original), my bet's on
Rutan.

Cheers all

Kenny

Just a quick question in basic aerodynamics with that sad video of the spacecraft prematurely returning to Earth,
wouldn't some kind of stabilizing fins be necessary?  If not, why?
