I am trying to use Interplanetary MFD to go to Mars and I have two problems at the moment. Ihave followed some of the
tutorials available ( Io to Europa etc ) and thought that I understood what was going on.

When I set up a transfer to Mars on the course display I am informed by the orbit ejection page that a large plane change is
needed ( about 37 deg ). However I had already aligned planes with mars using the standard orbiter mfd.

Also when I am executing the ejection burn the targeting crosshairs move about an awful lot.

I have set up the following parameters:-
course display:
src earth
tgt mars
ref sun
apoapsis
pro_grade
intersect_1

I know that I am doing something wrong but I can't figure out what. Can anuone help ?

I cannot honestly say that I have tried making the trip myself, but have you taken a look at Trevor John's tutorial
which is hosted here in the downloads section?  It has excellent tutorials on how to use MFDs for various intersteller
trips.  Duncan Sharpe also has a very solid tutorial that will guide you in calculating launch windows and trips to Mars.
His website is at http://www.orbitermars.co.uk/.  Also, take a look at the other MFDs he has written for Orbiter.
