Same for me, (MS Sidewinder)

It's a well know problem,

Orbiter have some issue with some joystick throttle (MS ?)
I don't know if there is a solution.... (But I don't think so)

It's funny...I have a Logitech Wingman Attack 2 joystick, and the throttle works fine for me in
Orbiter (running WinXP Pro).  The only weird bug is that when I start a scenario, even if the
throttle is at zero, the scenario will load the spacecraft with engines running.  If I advance the
throttle slightly while the Orbiter splash screen is on my monitor, and then reduce the throttle
back to zero, then there's no problem whatsoever--the scenario will load with the throttle at zero
as it should be.  Weird!

Cheers,
Dave

I had the same problem with a Logitech joystick. I solved it by setting the throttle saturation way
down in the Orbiter Launch program. For me sometimes the throttle would suddenly turn on with
no input. Made for some interesting docking situations. 8o
