Title: Some Questions...
Post by: Steve_Xtreme on 17 July 2014, 08:30:28
Heya,
Steve_Xtreme here. I have some questions:
1.) I haven't played Orbiter for a.... well, long time. Is your "Arrow Fighter" or whatever the mothership's name finished?
2.) Is in the sound addon a sound for breaking the limit of Mach 1?
3.) Is Orbiter (and your mothership mainly, it would be awesome) compatibile with stereoscopic 3D, or Oculus Rift?

Thank you, Steve_Xtreme. P.S.: I'm from Czech Republic, so apologize me for my bad english. Hope you understood.

Hello,

1.) Finished ? :wonder: The Arrow Frighter is fully fonctionnal in this state, with cool features. So it's finished. :)
But as C++ vessel, it might be more cool features implemented in the future, accordingly with the author's views (don't hurt me, Dan  ).
After 2 years of big work for Orbiter (web site, forum, addons), Dan is in vacations, for/from Orbiter only. :) :)

2.) There is a sound for Mach 1, but in flight the camera must be in the sound cone of vessel. In the file system of Orbiter installation, there is 3 files for that :
[Orbiter]\Sound\Vessel\sonicbang.wav
[Orbiter]\Sound\Vessel\sonicbangfar1.wav
[Orbiter]\Sound\Vessel\sonicbangfar.wav

3.) I don't really know, sorry.

3) With the D3D9 Client there is a compatibility over NVIDIA 3D Vision. After some tests, TriDef 3D works well too.
A random guy posted not so long ago a working D3D9 copy with Oculus Rift. So yeah, this is possible! But I don't know when it will be ready to be released to the public, though.

Hi, guys!

I'm not 100% sure, is there a way to use English units like natical miles, feet per second and miles per second, etc. in Deltglider IV? I know the Deltaglider IV uses metric units. Thanks!

                    Cheers,
                Vincent

Hi,

you can use HUDdataMFD wich allow you to display some SAE unit:

http://www.orbithangar.com/searchid.php?ID=3349 (http://www.orbithangar.com/searchid.php?ID=3349)

you can also use the CustomHUD.exe in the folder sound/deltagliderIV/CustomHud.exe to config the third HUD in the DG to show you the Altitude in Feet/Miles or the speed in knots/miles unit. Maybe some of these third display are already in set

Hi, SCEtoAUX!

I know about that! Oops! I meant to ask, like for example, how do I change the surface MFD, Orbit MFD to use English units from metric units? Thanks!

                  Cheers,
                Vincent
