MetOp is a series of polar orbiting meteorological satellites (Orbit SSO at 850km) built by ESA and EUMETSAT.
The fisrt sat Metop-A was launched on October 19, 2006 by Soyuz 2.1b ST at Baikonur. The next will launch in 2010 and 2014.

METOP est une famille de trois satellites météorologiques placés en orbite polaire (Héliosynchrone ou SSO) à 850km et développés par l'ESA et EUMETSAT.
Le premier satellite METOP-A a été lancé le 19 octobre 2006 par une Soyuz 2.1b ST depuis Baïkonour. Les 2 autres suivront en 2010 et 2014.
