Not sure that the current version of Orbiter has been verified to be compatible with Vista....

I think that it depends of your video card and drivers.
I used Vista and i don't have issue with Orbiter.

Note that you can use Orbiter on mode "compatibility with Windows XP", by right click on mouse, proprieties. It can solve your problem.

My config:
Vista ultimate 32b
Intel E6600
Asus P5B
2Go DDR2 800MHz
GeForce 8800 GTS (last driver)

You bring up a good point Dan...I was curious if anyone had gotten Orbiter to run well on Linux?

I tried Orbiter on Fedora 7 using Wine, but for some reason there were no scenarios listed in the launchpad.

Yes, a VERY good point, Dan. :sage:

I tried running Orbiter in WINE on Ubuntu 7.04.  It seemed to load all of the objects without problems, but the
momoent it was ready to drop me in the cockpit (read: render the scene), I got a CTD.  (The only app I've had CTD in
Linux thus far, I might add).  I'm guessing the failure is due to a lack of DirectX in Linux, and/or insufficient DirectX
emulation in WINE..... :wonder:

Remember that vista will try to out smart you and hide files that it 'thinks' you don't want to see.

Not having vista though means that that is the best  explanation i have.

Just curious if anyone has been able to resolve some of these....

After years, and years, and years of waiting :sage: , thanks to my hefty profit-sharing bonus I'm getting ready to
upgrade my PC.   :gift:

I have a copy of Windows Vista Ultimate that I won at my company's summer party, and I'll be installing it once I have
all the components assembled.  I'm anxious to see how beautiful Orbiter will look once I'll be able to run it in its full
glory...

I'd like to know the resolution to some of these issues (if they've been found) in case I run into them after my
upgrade....

(On a side note - I also plan to reinstall FS2004 and crank it up to full all the way across.  There might also be an
FSPassengers purchase in my future for the next bonus disbursement) ;)
